Full day coverage Hampshire wedding photography - Winchester Registry Office
---------
Rachael & Carl
Rachael and Carl's wedding was nothing short of amazing - one that really went out with a bang, and these are exactly the types of day's that I absolutely live for as a Dorset, Hampshire, and London wedding photographer. There was so much happening at every point of the day, so many emotions, so many giggles and so much laughter. I'm talking a retro car, a Saxophonist, bubbles and smoke machines, a magician (!!) AND fireworks!! This was such a super fun wedding, from getting ready at Carl & Rachael's gorgeous Hampshire dream home, to the final bang of the fireworks🎆
The Winchester Registry Office is just one of those buildings that just makes your jaw drop from the minute you walk up to it's grand front door. From the creamy tones of the historic stone walls to the perfectly kept marble flooring, it’s a photographers dream Registry Office - and ultimately, my favourite reg office that I've shot in. The Castle room is the biggest ceremony room at the office, and seats up to 42 guests. Of course this was the room that Rachael & Carl chose, to seat their lovely large ceremony guest number of 40 - such a lovely number of guests to have at a ceremony!! There are plenty of other rooms too, like the Basing Room, or the Avalon room, so do check them here out if you're planning a Winchester Registry Office Wedding too!
There is something just so incredible and timeless about the cobbled streets and stone architecture of the buildings in Winchester. It takes you back in time, transporting you to a place where you're not running every second, washed away with technology and the fast paced life - which I think is just perfect when having some after ceremony portraits taken. Which is exactly what we did, after the gorgeous ceremony had ended, and their guests were transporting themselves over the lovely reception venue.
As for their reception, just think fun. Pure fun. The lovely South Winchester Golf Club operations manager and team set such an amazing atmosphere, and laid out the tables and decor so perfectly for my lovely couple. The reception bought the sun, the laughter and the 120 guests to have a blast of an afternoon, feasting on a BBQ, their wedding doughnuts and sweeties, and watching the magician perform his tricks.
Rachael and Carl weren't huge on having their portraits taken, something they had made clear to me in our many talks leading up to their special day. They said they felt super shy infant of the camera, and didn't want too many posed and awkward photos. Carl desperately wanted to get away at the beginning of our portraits together, however he quickly eased in when he realised that my style of wedding portraits isn't simply stand and look at the camera and smile, but more about tickles, giggles, and showing off his muscles in cute lifts and authentic moments together. Result!
The fun continued into the night with their first dance turning into a full on rave, with the DJ blasting his music and his bubbles & smoke machine - and the room became more wild than a literal underground rave. And yes, I was right in there dancing with them👀
literal live footage of me:)
The night finished off with a blast of fireworks, and that was my 9 hours of coverage done for the day. With a gallery of 1500 edited and delivered at around 10 weeks in peak busy season, this was an incredible wedding from start to finish, and I couldn't be more grateful that I had the pleasure of being the photographer by their sides to capture each and every moment. Rachael and Carl, a billion thank yous🤍
If you're planning to have your dream wedding day at the Winchester Registry Office with a golf club reception, I'd absolutely love to be the one by your sides to capture every second!
